WooCommerce, Setup, Configuration & Product Data Input

Our clients have tasked us with a twin aproach with an ongoing development project. Firstly with full administration of plugin updates, store configuration. Secondly add products to woocommerce with data entry for their ecommerce project. They had a lot of issues setting up their ecommerce store and getting it to function correctly. There is no doubt about it Woo has a very, very steep learning curve which can lead to client frustrations.

We quickly jumped in at the deep end and with constant liason between ourselves and the client we configured the working front and backend of the store. Product stock, variations, and shipping structures were gone through in great detail before a payment gateway was finally selected.

Then the tedious work could begin!

First thing we required was the actual product catalogues of the brands the customer wished to stock. Digital is always best. On this occassion the customer was able to produce their own pictures which we edited to a regular and consistent size that fitted the theme they chose for thier store. A good description always helps influence a customers final decision and in some cases we had to go down the slow process of compiling descriptions of parts we knew very little about and asking our client to proof read and approve. A tedious process without doubt but it has to be done. It proves the point there are no quick fixes to speed data entry along if you want it done correctly and the site to function properly.
